Starting Extension to Layout

Starting to work on the small extension to my layout. It will form the ‘foot’ of an L-shaped layout. The extension is small .. only adding about 20″ x 72″ .. the bit of the leg that extends past the original is only 44″ long. Still .. should provide room for a ‘town’ .. a small dock etc.

I kept putting it off .. I would wander over and go .. “hmmm .. need to ..” and the realize that I needed some switches and put it off with “.. I need to order switches” .. and then would forget.

The other day I finally ordered a couple of Peco switches .. and when they came in and I was arranging them on the extension I realized that I had miscounted .. and needed a couple of pieces of flex track .. which led to a .. “Arrrgghhhh”.

Man. If I only had a brain …

    • I could. I also have some O scale narrow gauge switch ties that I could cut up and put under the HO track. Something to think about. In the meantime .. I can get the switches down and worry about the extra track later.
