Kitbashing Contest Part 5

Traxler Tool Model Railroad Products

I added static grass, bushes, and trees to complete the diorama.  I used Woodland Scenics’ Fine Leaf Foliage (light green, olive green) for the saplings, trees, and bushes.  I also used Scrub Grass Blend Flock & Turf from Scenic Express for the creeping vines.

I named the structure after Ed Traxler, since he made the static grass applicator for me at just about cost.  Thanks again, Ed!!!

The completed Diorama:

100_1472  100_1473

100_1474  100_1475

100_1476  100_1477

(The sign reads, “Future Home of Traxler Tool, Model Railroad Products.  ‘Static Grasses for the Masses.’”)

The judging for the 2013 NMRA Gateway Division Kitbashing Contest was held on Monday, September 16, 2013.  There were two categories for the dioramas, Craftsman and Novice.  Craftsman Level is for those who have won the Kitbashing Contest in previous years.  The Novice Level is for those who have not yet won.  Traxler Tool won first prize (Novice Level) in the contest!!!

This has been a fun and rewarding experience, and I look forward to next year’s contest!

Happy Modeling!
